Entec supports Punt Guns’ live London début.

When cyber rockers Punt Guns launched their new EP in London with a live performance at Subterania at the end of November, Entec was in place to provide support with additional lighting equipment to help boost the visuals of an already powerful show.

Founded in 2017 by guitarist Samura1 and singer/bassist Karisma, Punt Guns blend electronica with crunching riffs to create new, hook-laden, futuristic sounds for today’s digitally powered, uncertain world. “Fake news is the new normal. The myths need to be exploded. Transparency and openness are our new weapons… we’re looking to push the boundaries,” said Karisma.

Jiri Novotny (guitar/keyboards) and drummer Dan Western joined Samura1 and Karisma on stage and, adding diversity to the mix, the band’s inaugural London gig – which followed a warm-up at Brighton Electric three days earlier – also featured sets by DJ/producer Janette Slack and a unique performance by dancer Luz Frademan.

As well as augmenting the house lighting rig with the supply of Solaris Flares to add some LED strobe drama, Entec provided a video projector that enabled Esteban Ron’s exclusive palette of graphics – including the ‘Mighty Duck’ logo he designed for the band – to be projected on to the rear drape. The company also supplied a suite of sound effects to intensify the dark yet uplifting musical landscape.

Noreen O’Riordan, Entec’s managing director, commented: “We are always keen to support emerging talent with equipment and advice, so we were proud to help put the ‘icing on the cake’ for Punt Guns’ one-off special. We look forward to observing the development of their career throughout the next year.”

Punt Guns’ eponymous début album is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2020. In the meantime, the band’s EP – featuring ‘1.C.A.R.U.S.’, ‘B1g Bang’ and ‘Cyber Dreams’, produced by multiple award-winner Andy Wright of Eurythmics and Jeff Beck fame, is available now via https://www.puntguns.com
