Lighting The Stars

Greta Van Fleet – Starcatcher Tour

West London based Entec Live team up again with Greta Van Fleet for the second year in a row to provide lighting for the band’s UK and Europe Starcatcher World Tour.

The 70s Are BACK!

After touring the festival circuit last year with Entec designed festival Pods. This year Entec have provided a full rigging, lighting and scenic package for Greta Van Fleets five-week European tour.

“It has been great to team up with Production Manager Paul Binder again” said Entec’s Noreen O’Riordan. The California Music Express Production Manager Paul Binder has had a long term working relationship with Entec, it is a joy to see the continued relationship flourishing between Paul Binder and his production team with Patch Cleaver Entec Project handler for this tour.

The Michigan based band are touring to sold out arenas off the back of their third studio album Starcatcher. With a homage to the 70s the Led Zepplin style rock band Greta Van Fleet have amassed a following of all ages with their catchy guitar hooks, solos and costumes.

Show designer Rob Sinclair has re-imagined the 70s with a modern day twist. Six large lighting pods flown from the roof filled with Elation Arena Zoom Q7IP and Seven Pod carts under the onstage risers filled with LED Source 4 Pars keep the 70s vibe alive.

While the rest of the stage is bathed in light from Sixty Five Ayrton Eurus rigged over three sixty foot TFL LAD pre-rig trusses. Entec’s work horse Martin Aura XB wash lights created some stunning stage depth and silhouettes of the band as they were positioned along the cyclorama and back drop. Also spec’d were the highly popular GLP JDC1 and lighting the B stage and runways was the GLP JDC Line 1000. Highlighting the band were 6 Robe BMFL being controlled from 3x Robe Robospot systems from backstage.

The lighting rig controlled from Grand MA3 Full size by Touring LD Danielle Edwards who Entec also had the pleasure in working with last year.

The rest of the lighting team provided by Entec consists of Tanja Arends, Simon Chandler Honnor, Harvey Barker, Max Lustig and Tristan Tereszczuk who have brought this lighting rig from plot to performance across various Arenas around UK & Europe.

From Plot to Performance!

Entec deployed their Magnet Schultz Electro Kabuki system to introduce the band to the anticipated fans! Alongside the Kabuki there was also a tab track and pulley system for the LED starcloth. It was a busy show for stage tech Albert Burmudez another member of the long term Entec client family.

This has been a great tour to work on and it is always great to work with clients we have a long standing relationship with.
We look forward to working again with the team when the Cat suits and Capes are coming into town again!
